With the new #Android OS now you finally have one place to play with your notifications. Before on Android many apps would have their own notification settings and then the phone settings app will have its own notification criteria, but now with Nougat/Oreo/Pie you can actually control all notifications from just your phone settings, many apps have updated to support this and it makes life really easy. Another thing you should know is that if you find some notifications annoying and want to get rid of them quickly you can just swipe over them in the notifications drop down menu and can either turn them off or silent them. This implementation is different depending on which skin you are using but is still better than before.
